Auki 1400 - 2 Person Outdoor Traditional Sauna

1400 × 1300 × 2200 mm | 2000 mm Internal Clear Height | 3.5 kW Heater | 15 A Hardwired

Auki means “open” in Finnish—and that is exactly how Auki 1400 is designed to feel. Created for one or two people, it brings the comfort and experience of a traditional sauna into a compact form designed for everyday garden living.

Inside, tiered floating benches and generous headroom create an open, comfortable environment, while tea-tinted garden-facing glazing maintains a natural connection with the outdoors.

Heat-treated, knot-free walnut, integrated lighting and traditional stone-based heat come together in a calm, refined design with a distinctly architectural character.

01 · Relaxation & Stress Relief

The enveloping warmth of a traditional sauna creates a natural opportunity to slow down, unwind and step away from the demands of the day. Regular sauna sessions can become a calming ritual for relaxation, stress relief and a greater sense of wellbeing. Relaxation and stress reduction are among the most commonly reported reasons people use sauna.

02 · Mindful Time & Mental Reset

Away from screens, notifications and everyday distractions, the sauna creates uninterrupted time for quiet reflection and a slower, more intentional rhythm.

It becomes a space to disconnect from the outside world, clear the mind and make time for yourself.

03 · Healthy Circulation

As the body responds to sauna heat, blood vessels dilate, heart rate rises and circulation changes naturally with the surrounding warmth. Acute Finnish sauna studies have observed reductions in blood pressure and arterial stiffness following a sauna session.

Regular sauna bathing has also been associated with favourable cardiovascular outcomes in long-term population research.

04 · Post-Workout Recovery

After training, the enveloping heat provides a natural way to transition from physical effort into rest.

Sauna can help the body feel relaxed after exercise, ease feelings of muscle tightness and become a restorative part of a regular post-workout routine. Research has also explored post-exercise sauna use for heat adaptation and endurance-related benefits.

05 · Deep Sweating & Natural Detoxification

Traditional sauna temperatures encourage pronounced whole-body sweating as the body works naturally to regulate heat.

Sweat contains water, electrolytes and small amounts of other compounds, and studies have detected trace elements and certain environmental substances in perspiration. While the liver and kidneys remain the body’s primary detoxification systems, sweating provides an additional pathway through which some compounds can leave the body.

Beyond the physiology, the experience of deep sweating is part of the distinctive cleansing and refreshed feeling many people associate with traditional sauna.

06 · Immune System Support

Sauna heat creates a short, controlled form of physiological stress that activates a range of natural heat-response mechanisms.

Research has observed temporary changes in white blood cells and other immune-related markers following Finnish sauna exposure, supporting growing interest in the relationship between regular heat exposure and healthy immune function.

For many people, this makes sauna a natural addition to a broader routine built around recovery, resilience and long-term wellbeing.

07 · Longevity & Long-Term Wellbeing

Some of the most compelling research into Finnish sauna comes from long-term population studies.

In Finnish cohorts, more frequent sauna bathing has been associated with lower rates of cardiovascular mortality and all-cause mortality, alongside other favourable long-term health outcomes. These studies show an association rather than proving that sauna itself extends lifespan, but they have helped make regular sauna bathing an increasingly studied part of long-term healthy living.

A sauna session may last only a short part of the day, but the ritual can become something you return to for years.

08 · Traditional Finnish Sauna & Löyly

Heated sauna stones, high temperatures and the ritual of pouring water over the stones to create löyly bring the defining character of traditional Finnish sauna bathing into your own home.

The rise of steam, changing humidity and enveloping heat create an experience that cannot be reduced to temperature alone—it is a ritual of heat, water, timber and time.

01 · A Complete Sauna without Giving Up Your Garden

You should not have to choose between a sauna that fits comfortably into your garden and one that feels complete inside.

We created Auki 1400 for individuals and couples who want an authentic traditional sauna without sacrificing a large part of their outdoor space.

Designed by our in-house product team and manufactured in our own factory, it was developed as a coordinated system—from its external form and internal proportions to its seating, glazing, heating and outdoor protection.

Rather than shrinking a larger cabin or designing around maximum capacity, we began with how one or two people would actually use it—how they would sit, experience different levels of heat, look out to the garden and return to the sauna as part of everyday life.

It is a private garden sauna built around the comfort, privacy and daily rituals of one or two people.

02 · Compact Outside, Generous Inside

At 1400 × 1300 × 2200 mm, Auki 1400 preserves usable interior space within a compact garden footprint.

Its efficient rectangular plan maximises room inside, while softly rounded corners create a gentler architectural form that sits naturally among planting, stone and decking.

An internal clear height of 2000 mm provides generous headroom. Traditional tiered seating positions the lower bench at 430 mm and the upper bench at 860 mm above the floor, allowing you to experience different levels of heat.

The upper bench is 450 mm deep, providing comfortable and supportive seating for everyday use.

We use substantial timber boards rather than narrow-strip seating. Floating construction leaves more of the floor visible, while carefully aligned joints and surfaces free from visible nail and screw heads keep the interior calm, open and visually resolved.

03 · Open to the Garden, Private Enough to Relax

A compact timber sauna should not feel enclosed, yet fully clear glazing can leave you feeling exposed.

The 5 mm tea-tinted tempered glass brings natural light and garden views into the cabin while softening direct sightlines from outside. Its warm tint complements the deeper walnut tones and helps the interior feel more open and comfortable.

After dark, architectural surround LED lighting traces the softly rounded form of the cabin, while concealed 12-colour LED chromotherapy lighting beneath the benches allows you to personalise the atmosphere.

04 · Materials You See and Feel

We selected clear-grade, heat-treated, knot-free walnut for its deeper tone, refined grain and calm visual character.

Heat treatment develops the timber’s warm colour and improves dimensional stability as temperature and moisture conditions change.

Because our design and manufacturing teams work together throughout product development, timber selection, joinery and visible surfaces are carefully resolved before the sauna reaches your garden.

05 · Traditional Heat Matched to the Space

A larger heater is not automatically a better heater. What matters is whether the complete heating system is properly matched to the cabin.

The Orans Signature 3.5 kW heater and its 10 kg sauna stone capacity are matched to the cabin’s internal volume, glazing and ventilation.

Auki 1400 delivers traditional sauna temperatures above 85°C, while allowing water to be ladled over the heated stones to create authentic löyly.

A 15 A hardwired connection supports the standard configuration. The delayed-start function allows heating to be scheduled up to 8 hours in advance, while the adjustable heating duration provides flexibility around work, training and everyday routines.

06 · Prepared and Supported for Outdoor Living

Auki 1400 arrives with the exterior timber pre-oiled at the factory, so the initial protective treatment does not need to be completed immediately after assembly.

Natural timber requires ongoing care. The exterior should be inspected regularly and re-oiled approximately six months after installation, with further treatment carried out as needed depending on sun, rain and site exposure.

Asphalt shingles, with an additional waterproof membrane beneath, provide enhanced protection against rain.

Integrated floor drainage helps manage water used during löyly and cleaning, while corrosion-resistant foundation beams protect the area closest to ground-level moisture.

For residential use, Auki is backed by a 5-year structural warranty, a 5-year heater warranty and a 3-year warranty on other components.

We design it. We build it. We stand behind it.
