Auki 2150 - 4 Person Outdoor Traditional Sauna

2150 × 1800 × 2200 mm | 2020 mm Internal Clear Height | 8.0 kW Heater | 40 A Hardwired

Auki means “open” in Finnish—and Auki 2150 takes that sense of openness further. Designed for up to four people, it brings a more spacious traditional sauna experience into a refined architectural form for the garden.

Inside, generous opposing benches and expansive tea-tinted garden-facing glazing create a greater sense of space and freedom, with room to sit, stretch out or recline comfortably, whether enjoyed alone or together.

Heat-treated, knot-free walnut, integrated lighting and traditional stone-based heat come together in a warm, refined design with a distinctly sculptural presence in the garden.

01 · Relaxation & Stress Relief

The enveloping warmth of a traditional sauna creates a natural opportunity to slow down, unwind and step away from the demands of the day. Regular sauna sessions can become a calming ritual for relaxation, stress relief and a greater sense of wellbeing. Relaxation and stress reduction are among the most commonly reported reasons people use sauna.

02 · Mindful Time & Mental Reset

Away from screens, notifications and everyday distractions, the sauna creates uninterrupted time for quiet reflection and a slower, more intentional rhythm.

It becomes a space to disconnect from the outside world, clear the mind and make time for yourself.

03 · Healthy Circulation

As the body responds to sauna heat, blood vessels dilate, heart rate rises and circulation changes naturally with the surrounding warmth. Acute Finnish sauna studies have observed reductions in blood pressure and arterial stiffness following a sauna session.

Regular sauna bathing has also been associated with favourable cardiovascular outcomes in long-term population research.

04 · Post-Workout Recovery

After training, the enveloping heat provides a natural way to transition from physical effort into rest.

Sauna can help the body feel relaxed after exercise, ease feelings of muscle tightness and become a restorative part of a regular post-workout routine. Research has also explored post-exercise sauna use for heat adaptation and endurance-related benefits.

05 · Deep Sweating & Natural Detoxification

Traditional sauna temperatures encourage pronounced whole-body sweating as the body works naturally to regulate heat.

Sweat contains water, electrolytes and small amounts of other compounds, and studies have detected trace elements and certain environmental substances in perspiration. While the liver and kidneys remain the body’s primary detoxification systems, sweating provides an additional pathway through which some compounds can leave the body.

Beyond the physiology, the experience of deep sweating is part of the distinctive cleansing and refreshed feeling many people associate with traditional sauna.

06 · Immune System Support

Sauna heat creates a short, controlled form of physiological stress that activates a range of natural heat-response mechanisms.

Research has observed temporary changes in white blood cells and other immune-related markers following Finnish sauna exposure, supporting growing interest in the relationship between regular heat exposure and healthy immune function.

For many people, this makes sauna a natural addition to a broader routine built around recovery, resilience and long-term wellbeing.

07 · Longevity & Long-Term Wellbeing

Some of the most compelling research into Finnish sauna comes from long-term population studies.

In Finnish cohorts, more frequent sauna bathing has been associated with lower rates of cardiovascular mortality and all-cause mortality, alongside other favourable long-term health outcomes. These studies show an association rather than proving that sauna itself extends lifespan, but they have helped make regular sauna bathing an increasingly studied part of long-term healthy living.

A sauna session may last only a short part of the day, but the ritual can become something you return to for years.

08 · Traditional Finnish Sauna & Löyly

Heated sauna stones, high temperatures and the ritual of pouring water over the stones to create löyly bring the defining character of traditional Finnish sauna bathing into your own home.

The rise of steam, changing humidity and enveloping heat create an experience that cannot be reduced to temperature alone—it is a ritual of heat, water, timber and time.

01 · A Larger Sauna That Still Feels Light in the Garden

Designing a larger garden sauna creates an immediate challenge: how to gain more room inside without allowing the cabin to feel visually heavy outdoors.

Auki 2150 was created for families and groups who want more room to sit together, move comfortably and relax fully.

At 2150 × 1800 × 2200 mm, Auki 2150 delivers a genuine sense of space inside, yet a sauna of this size could easily resemble a large timber box from the outside.

We wanted the opposite.

Expansive front glazing, carefully considered framing and a softened architectural form reduce the visual weight of the cabin, allowing it to feel open and composed within its surroundings.

From the beginning, Auki 2150 was designed not simply as a larger sauna, but as a piece of garden architecture that feels considered from every angle.

02 · Space Designed to Be Used, Not Just Measured

More space does not automatically create a better sauna. What matters is what that space allows you to do.

A 2020 mm internal clear height provides generous headroom, while 480 mm-deep upper benches offer substantial seating and enough depth to relax more fully.

The layout also allows two people to lie down comfortably on opposite benches at the same time, turning the additional interior space into something you can genuinely use rather than simply see.

Floating bench construction keeps the centre open and allows sightlines to continue beneath the seating when viewed through the front glazing.

Ergonomically shaped backrests provide comfortable support while maintaining the interior’s clean, open character.

03 · A Wider View of the Garden, with Greater Visual Softness

The front elevation is organised around expansive 5 mm tea-tinted tempered glazing, including an 840 mm-wide door, making the garden a stronger part of the sauna experience.

From inside, the broad glazing brings natural light into the cabin and opens the interior to generous garden views.

From outside, the tea tint softens direct sightlines into the sauna, avoiding both the exposed feel of clear glazing and the heavier appearance of very dark glass.

In sunlight, its warm tea tone becomes more apparent, creating a gentle visual relationship between the walnut, glass and natural colours of the garden.

04 · Details Designed Specifically for the Cabin

On a broad, minimal façade, small details become more important.

Rather than using a conventional rectangular or round handle, we developed a sculptural timber handle with an asymmetric, angular form that introduces a distinctive detail against the clean geometry of the front elevation.

Its shape and proportions were developed around the door and surrounding glazing rather than selected as an off-the-shelf component.

The same thinking extends to the more functional elements of the sauna.

The Orans Signature 8.0 kW sauna heater is matched to the cabin’s larger internal volume, while its 20 kg sauna stone capacity supports steady heat and traditional löyly. Discreetly integrated ventilation helps balance airflow, heat and comfort throughout the space. The sculpted heater guard complements the form and material language of the cabin.

Each detail was designed to belong to the sauna rather than appear as a component added afterwards.

05 · Craftsmanship Made Visible through Simplicity

A clean, open interior places greater emphasis on material selection, precision and craftsmanship.

Clear-grade, heat-treated, knot-free walnut gives Auki 2150 a calm and substantial material character, allowing the natural grain and deeper colour of the timber to remain visually prominent.

Carefully aligned joints, clean timber connections and minimal visible fixings keep the focus on the walnut itself.

Enhanced roof weather protection and integrated floor drainage support practical long-term outdoor use without interrupting the cabin’s clean architectural form.

Rather than relying on decoration, the design allows material, construction and craftsmanship to provide the detail.

06 · Designed to Become a Garden Feature After Dark

We wanted Auki 2150 to have as much presence at night as it does during the day.

After dark, the illuminated interior glows through the tea-tinted glass. The walnut tones deepen, the glazing gains depth and the softened architectural form takes on a warmer, more atmospheric presence in the garden.

By day, Auki 2150 opens the sauna to the garden. After dark, it becomes part of the garden itself.

Auki 2150 brings together genuinely usable space, traditional sauna performance and a lighter architectural presence, allowing a larger sauna to feel entirely at home in the garden.

We design it. We build it. We stand behind it.
