01 · Training Ends at the Gym. Recovery Continues at Home.
Customers who trained regularly kept describing the same gap: the workout was structured, but what came afterwards was not.
A quick stretch, a shower or a few minutes of rest did not provide a dedicated place to transition from physical effort into deeper recovery. That need became the starting point for Gli 900.
We developed it as a one-person full spectrum infrared sauna specifically for use after exercise. Two responsive full spectrum heating tubes bring near-, mid- and far-infrared wavelengths together, creating warmth that feels immediate, sustained and layered.
To make that warmth more purposeful, we considered how someone naturally sits after training—where the legs settle, how the knees extend forward and how each area relates to the heat source.
This thinking shaped the angled bench, heating distance and additional coverage around the knees, giving post-workout recovery a defined place within the home.
02 · A Diagonal Layout That Makes 0.81 m² Work Harder
Many Australian homes do not include a room designed specifically for sauna. Gli 900 therefore occupies only 900 × 900 mm of floor space—just 0.81 m²—making it easier to incorporate into an existing bedroom, study, home gym or wellness area.
The challenge was not simply fitting a seat within these dimensions. It was creating a relaxed posture while maintaining the right relationship between the user and both heating tubes.
The 1890 mm internal clear height provides natural clearance when entering, turning and settling onto the bench. This vertical proportion balances the narrow footprint and prevents the interior from feeling compressed.
We then used the longest available line within the square—the diagonal. Positioning the fully floating bench at an angle creates more natural room for the legs, directs the torso towards the primary heating area and brings the knees into alignment with the dedicated lower-level tube.
Removing much of the visible support beneath the seat reveals more of the floor and surrounding timber, helping the interior feel lighter and more open.
Rather than increasing the external dimensions, we used the internal geometry more purposefully—designing the space around the seated position instead of simply following the square form of the cabin.
03 · Warmth That Reaches Beyond the Torso
In a natural seated position, the back and torso remain close to the primary heating area while the knees extend further forward.
After running, cycling, strength training or spending extended time on the feet, the knees and surrounding muscles can feel tight and fatigued. We did not want these areas to rely only on the general temperature inside the sauna.
Gli 900 therefore combines a primary full spectrum heating tube with an additional tube positioned around knee level. The 300 W and 750 W elements provide a total output of 1.05 kW.
The lower tube directs warmth towards the knees and surrounding muscles, helping them feel warmer and more relaxed after training while creating a more balanced sensation between the upper and lower body.
The objective was not maximum heating power within a small enclosure. It was more intelligent distribution—extending direct warmth to an area positioned further away from the primary source.
04 · Why We Chose Siberian White Pine
Within a one-person sauna, timber forms most of the visible environment. Its colour, grain and surface character directly influence how the interior feels.
Siberian white pine has a naturally light appearance, with pale cream and soft golden tones supported by a relatively fine, even grain. For Gli 900, we select clear-grade, knot-free timber to create calm, continuous surfaces across the walls and ceiling.
Heat treatment introduces subtle honey and light caramel undertones while giving the grain greater depth. It also helps reduce moisture absorption and improve dimensional stability compared with untreated timber, supporting more consistent panel alignment through repeated heating and cooling.
Under the amber glow of the heating tubes and integrated lighting, the wood develops a richer tone without making the enclosure feel dark or visually heavy.
We chose this material for both its performance and character: it softens the technical presence of the heating system and gives Gli 900 a warmer, more natural and furniture-like place within the home.
05 · Openness with an Added Layer of Safety
Within a structure only 900 mm wide, a predominantly solid-timber frontage would shorten the sightlines and make the seated position feel more enclosed.
We therefore used 6 mm tempered glass across the door and fixed side panel, allowing light and views from the surrounding room to continue into the sauna.
The glass is designed for strength and resistance to temperature changes and everyday contact. In the unlikely event of breakage, it forms small, relatively blunt-edged fragments rather than large, sharp shards.
A transparent safety film provides an additional layer of protection by helping hold the fragments together and reduce scattering. It remains visually discreet, preserving the clear view and open character of the frontage.
The glass also reveals the angled bench and considered heating layout. Balanced with the warm, heat-treated timber, it allows Gli 900 to feel like part of the room rather than a closed, bulky piece of recovery equipment.
06 · Technology and Assembly, Quietly Integrated
The full spectrum heating tubes remain visible because their relationship with the seated position is central to the design. Other functions are integrated more quietly.
Concealed 7-colour LED chromotherapy lighting creates a soft atmosphere without exposing the light strip itself. An integrated reading light provides focused illumination, while fully concealed Bluetooth audio fills the sauna with music, podcasts or calming sound without visible speakers.
The digital control panel, PureAir oxygen ioniser and master power switch are positioned for straightforward operation without adding unnecessary visual complexity.
Our Snap-Lock assembly system allows Gli 900 to be carried through the home in manageable panels and assembled in its intended location. The locking system supports precise alignment without requiring permanent built-in construction or extensive renovation.
Once assembled, the sauna operates through a 10 A standard household plug, making it easier to incorporate into a suitable room within the home.
From the 0.81 m² footprint and 1890 mm internal clear height to the angled bench and dedicated knee-level warmth, each decision supports one purpose: giving deeper post-workout recovery a considered place in everyday life.
Designed from the post-workout body outwards. A private place for deeper recovery at home.
For residential use, Gli 900 is supported by a 5-year structural warranty, a 5-year warranty on heating components and a 3-year warranty on other components.
