Remaining in a stable and comfortable position allows the cooling sensation to surround the immersed areas evenly throughout the session.

Built Around Recovery for Two

IB 1400 did not begin by simply making a one-person ice bath larger.

It began with a different question: what if recovery could be designed to be shared?

That question shaped every decision that followed.

01 · Why We Designed Recovery to Be Shared

Cold-water immersion does not always need to be experienced alone.

For couples, family members and training partners, sharing the experience creates time to recover together, encourage one another and step away from the pace of the day.

A shared routine can also make the experience easier to return to consistently. The challenge is faced together, the moment is shared and recovery becomes part of a ritual that belongs to both people.

IB 1400 is not simply a Tub with space for two. It is a dedicated place where two people can pause, reset and recover together.

02 · Why Face-to-Face Seating Changed the Tub

Designing for two required more than adding a second seat.

The face-to-face layout gives each person a defined place within the water while creating a natural connection between them. It allows for conversation and encouragement, or simply the quiet presence of another person throughout the experience.

Integrated seating positioned at 300 mm supports a stable, upright immersion position without requiring separate internal seats.

The 1400 mm width creates comfortable space for two people, while the 750 mm depth helps maintain a balanced footprint for gardens, courtyards and indoor wellness spaces.

When used individually, the same design provides a more open and spacious immersion experience.

Every proportion was shaped around how two people enter, sit and recover together, not simply around how many people the Tub can hold.

03 · Why the Water Had to Be Ready, Not Prepared

A shared recovery routine is easier to maintain when neither person needs to organise the water before every session.

With a recommended water volume of approximately 612 L, repeatedly preparing the Tub with bags of ice would work against the simplicity we wanted to create.

IB 1400 uses a dedicated Chiller to automatically cool or heat, circulate, filter and maintain the water.

Temperature can be selected using the controls on the Chiller or through the compatible app, allowing the water to be prepared around your schedule.

This changes cold-water immersion from something that needs to be arranged each time into a recovery experience that is ready when both of you are.

04 · Why Chiller Performance Had to Match the Tub

The larger water volume of a two-person Tub requires performance selected specifically for its scale.

This is why the IB 1400 range begins with the 0.6 HP Chiller rather than including a smaller option designed for lower water volumes.

The 0.6 HP Chiller provides cooling and heating with a strong balance of everyday performance and running cost.

For customers seeking faster temperature changes and more advanced water care, the 1.0 HP Chiller adds four-stage filtration and integrated ozone treatment.

Both options provide on-unit and compatible app control and are designed to support the complete IB 1400 experience.

The choice is not simply between two machines. It allows each customer to select the level of performance that best suits their routine and how quickly they want the water prepared.

05 · Why the Technical Equipment Had to Disappear

The Chiller is essential to the performance of the system, but we did not want it to define how IB 1400 looks within the home.

The matching ventilated Step provides easier access to the Tub while integrating and concealing the Chiller within the overall design.

Customers can choose the streamlined Zen Step or the Nordic Step with handrails for additional support. Each Step is matched to the selected Chiller while continuing the same walnut finish as the Tub.

The Step was not treated as an accessory added afterwards. It became the connection between easier access, Chiller ventilation and a clean, complete appearance.

Instead of seeing a Tub, a machine and a separate Step, you see one unified home immersion system.

06 · Why It Had to Feel Like Part of the Home

IB 1400 is visible for far longer than each individual immersion session lasts.

For that reason, its appearance had to feel permanent, warm and intentional within the surrounding space.

Heat-treated, knot-free walnut gives the exterior a natural, furniture-like presence, while precisely finished wood-joint detailing reinforces the craftsmanship of the complete design.

Inside, the smooth 1.5 mm stainless-steel Tub creates a substantial immersion area, while double-layer insulation helps limit unnecessary temperature changes.

The contrast between the stainless-steel interior and warm walnut exterior reflects our design approach: performance where it matters and natural warmth where the product meets the home.

07 · Why Simplicity Had to Continue Between Sessions

The recovery experience does not begin when you enter the water or end when you step out.

Integrated circulation and filtration help manage the water between sessions, while the complimentary insulated Tub lid helps shield the water surface from debris and limit unnecessary temperature changes.

When the water needs to be changed, the purpose-designed drainage adaptor connects the Tub outlet to a standard Australian garden hose, making it easier to direct the water towards a suitable drainage or water reuse location.

Preparation, shared immersion, water care and drainage were designed as parts of one continuous experience.

We did not design IB 1400 simply to accommodate two people.

We designed it to make recovery something two people can share: spacious without becoming oversized, powerful without looking technical and ready without turning wellness into another task.
